"First and foremost, I would like to thank our members because really, all of this was donated by them and it would not have been possible without their generosity" says Shaun Measday, the Managing Director, Fitness First Malaysia who was there to witness the donation of the items to the children.
As the bags were presented to the children, they all eagerly dived in, bringing up toys, books and clothes which they tried on and some even started to pick out their favorite items.
For Buddha, 9 and Jerry Choon, 13, this was dream come true for them. 'We always had to share our toys and books among a lot of children. Now, we have a lot more books and toys to go around!' says Jerry.
On hand as well was Siva, the main guardian for the shelter. "I would like to thank Fitness First because they made this happen and their members too. We are so grateful for the amount of items donated. It is not often that the children get to experience such generosity. It has clearly made their day!"
Fitness First is taking this CSR initiative as an on going effort and shall continue to support Agathians Shelter. Currently, the shelter is undergoing renovations to extend their compound and Fitness First is planning to work with them to help with the renovations.
