Real Results  

Being in shape has always been a priority for me. However, with stress, I binged on comfort food frequently which inevitably led to my expanding waistline, low energy levels, and an even lower self-esteem. I am only 27 years of age but it felt like I was 40 instead. When I found out that my weight had hit 98kgs, just 2kgs shy of 100kgs, I knew I had to do something as I have neglected my health for far too long.

I first attempted to exercise to get back in shape but to no avail as I was not motivated and gave up at the first sign of strain. This became a vicious cycle and I knew I needed professional help. Thus, began my journey with Fitness First in October 2008 with Halim, my Personal Trainer. I found out through the complimentary body composition analysis how unhealthy I have become; my Body Mass Index (BMI) and Body Fat percentage were way above the normal range and I immediately sought for Halim’s guidance. Halim then came up with a specific plan to achieve my fitness goals.

Halim started me off with light exercises and gradually increased the intensity level based on my progress. The circuit training pushed me to my limits and Halim continued to push me harder each session to the extent that I felt like giving up from the exhaustion and soreness felt across my entire body. As much as I felt like giving up, Halim never once gave up on me. Instead, he taught me to persevere and took different measures to keep me motivated throughout our Personal Training sessions. I then found my Personal Training sessions with Halim challenging but FUN!

Apart from that, Halim also gave nutritional guidance on healthy eating and gave me insights on how a balanced meal is as important as regular exercise in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He encouraged me to alter my eating habits by cutting down on junk food and drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.

As a result, my stamina, endurance, strength and flexibility have improved remarkably. My weight reduced from 98kgs to 80.3kgs, while my body fat percentage dropped from 31.9% to 23%. The most thrilling result I gained was the reduction of 7” from my waistline! None of this would be achievable without my sessions with Halim. The best part was nobody could believe my transformation in appearance in only 6 months. I received many compliments from friends, colleagues as well as from family members on my fit appearance. I have never felt this good about myself and I owe it all to Halim’s knowledge and enthusiasm. He is truly amazing!

I now truly understand what weight management is all about. Losing weight is not an easy task as it requires strong self-discipline especially when it comes to food choices. I must be patient with my body because I know it would not change overnight. It is my personal responsibility to ensure that I continue to practice what Halim has taught me thus far and I will continue to push myself harder each time and never give up so I can continue to reach my goals.

To Halim, thank you for supporting me to achieve my goal. Your energy and attitude, along with your extensive knowledge in Personal Training really makes you an excellent Personal Trainer.
